GPD WIN MAX 2, der fås i GPD Store, er en imponerende Ultrabook, der kombinerer arbejde og leg i en enkelt enhed. Denne håndholdte gaming-pc har en højtydende AMD Ryzen 7 6800U-processor med otte kerner og seksten tråde, der kan nå op på 4,7 GHz mellem en konfigurerbar 15W-28W TDP. AMD Radeon 680M leverer op til 2,2 GHz kraft, hvilket sikrer jævn grafik på den 10,1″ IPS touchscreen-skærm.

GPD WIN MAX 2 måler kun 22,7 × 16,0 × 2,3 cm (8,9 x 6,2 x 0,9 tommer) og vejer lidt over et kilo, så den er meget bærbar og passer nemt ned i en taske eller et etui. Denne håndholdte gaming-pc understøtter op til 32 GB LPDDR5-6400 MT/s RAM og op til 2 TB SSD, med et ekstra slot på bagsiden til op til 2 TB m.2. PCIe 3.0 SSD.

GPD WIN MAX 2 er også udstyret med fuld spilkontrol, herunder dobbelte analoge sticks med hall-effektsensor, et gaming D-Pad og hall-effekt-triggere. Der er endda to ekstra knapper på bagsiden, som kan konfigureres efter eget ønske. Denne Ultrabook kan også prale af hurtig WiFi 6 og Bluetooth 5.2, med valgfri 4G LTE-understøttelse til mobildata.

GPD WIN MAX 2 drives af et 67Wh Li-polymer-batteri, som giver op til 14 timers let brug, 6-8 timers moderat brug og 3 timers kraftig brug. Og med en Thunderbolt 4-port kan du tilslutte et eksternt grafikkort (eGPU) for at få endnu hurtigere ydelse. Der er endda indbygget HDMI 2.1 til visning på to skærme.

Multiple faults, questionable reliability

I got the Win Max 2 32GB edition that i have purchased this summer and in beginning this mini computer worked like a dream everything was great and i thought that finally i found my ultra portable gaming dream however this dream over last few months turned more in to a nightmare. Just half a year later Win Max 2 started developing all sorts of faults like the famous black screen issue that many others are reporting and no matter what you try such as updating bios, resetting the computer this only solves the issue for a a while and then it comes back. Now the new bigger more serious problem has surfaced where the machine freezes and graphics card crashes when you plug or unplug the charger, when this happens the gpu driver disappears and i have to reinstall it after each crash. This basically means that this computer has to be plugged in all the time or switched off prior to connecting or disconnecting the charger. Now before anyone says anything i am a technically minded person and have tried more then just general reset and update, the issue is in the design itself as per further investigation Win Max 2 has absolutely zero tolerance to voltage fluctuations so any changes to power will either freeze or crash this computer. Even when you plug anything else to the second usb c charger port that will also freeze Win Max 2 computer. As there are so many posts all over the internet on almost every forum its just obvious GPD doesnt build with quality its all about the idea and just make it look good. Now ironically i had the option to buy a laptop this summer which i was saving for but i thought having a tiny gaming computer would be more better, to this day i now regret i didnt just go on and get a regular gaming laptop which would also cost less but most importantly work without all these problems which now i fear that i dont know what else to expect from this computer. It would be even difficult to sell it on ebay because so many people know what quality of GPD is like. Honestly Droiux how could you retail this without extensive research is beyond anyones guess. Final word be careful when buying any of these GPD computers!
